Apply to the joint
Run a thin film along the joint, close the parts, then cure with UV light passing through the transparent glass, acrylic or polycarbonate part.

UV cure
Align the parts while the film is still wet, since it stays workable until light reaches it. Hold a UV lamp close over the joint and let the light pass through the clear part to fixture the bond.

Clear finish
Apply a thin film so only a little squeezes out, then wipe the excess from the edges before you cure. Curing clean leaves a water-clear bond with almost no visible glue line on the finished glass or acrylic part.

Krystal 1000 is a one-component, medium-viscosity UV and visible-light curable acrylic adhesive for bonding plastics such as ABS, HIPS, PS, PC, PVC and acrylic. Its 650-1050 cps viscosity suits applications needing high adhesion and optical clarity, including signage and display assembly where one bonded surface is transparent so the light can reach the joint.
Krystal 1000 has a medium viscosity of 650-1050 cps, measured at 25 C on an S14 spindle at 100 rpm. This places it between the low-viscosity Krystal 3000 (5-15 cps) and high-viscosity Krystal 2000 (5000-7000 cps), giving good gap fill while still flowing into tighter joints.
Krystal 1000 cures within seconds once exposed to a 365nm UV source at the correct intensity. The Vitrochem TDS lists a recommended cure time of 10-15 seconds at a UV intensity of 1500-3000 mJ/cm2. As a cure-on-demand adhesive, it stays liquid until the light is applied, so parts can be positioned first.
Cured Krystal 1000 has a service temperature range of -40 C to +100 C per the Vitrochem TDS. Its glass transition temperature is -5 C and the cured film reaches Shore D 65 hardness, suiting indoor and many outdoor bonded assemblies within that range with good thermal and shock resistance.
Krystal 1000 cures to an ultra-clear film with a refractive index of 1.4825, close to common acrylic, so bond lines stay visually discreet. The uncured adhesive is a pale yellow liquid per the Vitrochem TDS, and the cured film offers good weather resistance for display and signage bonding.
Krystal 1000 develops a tensile strength of 108 kg/cm2 in an acrylic-to-acrylic bond once fully cured, per the Vitrochem TDS. The cured adhesive also shows 228% elongation, giving it good shock resistance, and the Vitrochem TDS lists it for bonding ABS, HIPS, PS, PC, PVC and acrylic.
Krystal 1000 has a 1-year shelf life in its original, unopened container when stored between 15 C and 25 C, away from direct light. Vitrochem advises keeping it cool, dry and below 25 C, and shielding any opened bottle from light to prevent premature cure. It is supplied in 50ml and 1-litre anti-UV bottles.
Krystal 1000 is solvent free, with 0% solvent content listed on the Vitrochem TDS. Because nothing evaporates during cure, shrinkage is minimal and there is no white residue, which helps maintain optical clarity and dimensional accuracy in bonded plastic parts.
