AFT 2120WF is a 1.2 mm white acrylic foam tape for visible, gap-bridging structural bonds on metal, aluminium, stainless steel, acrylic and glass, rated from -10 C to +90 C. The white foam suits automotive trim, signage, cladding and facade panels where the bond line should look clean, and its viscoelastic structure absorbs the differing expansion of dissimilar substrates through temperature cycling. It carries a 180-degree peel strength of 3200 g/25mm.

Front fascia panel
Apply the acrylic foam tape to the cab framework, peel the liner, then press the front fascia panel into place. The tape bonds the panel over its full area, so there are no rivet heads on the finished face.
Side body panel
Run continuous strips of tape along the body frame rails, then press the side panel on. The foam bond spreads load across the whole panel and seals the joint, replacing rivets and spot welds.
Rear quarter panel
Bond the rear side panels the same way. The acrylic foam absorbs vibration and the differential expansion between the metal panel and the steel frame, so the bond holds over the vehicle life.

Skirt cladding panel
Apply the foam tape to the escalator truss, peel the liner, then press the stainless skirt panel into place. The tape holds the cladding flush with no visible screws.
Bond without screws
Foam tape bonds decorative stainless and aluminium cladding panels to the structure over their full footprint, so the finished escalator has clean panel lines with no fixings.
Absorb movement
The acrylic foam layer flexes with foot-traffic vibration and thermal movement between the cladding and the metal frame, keeping the bond and the panel seam intact.

Frequently asked questions
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF is a 1.2 mm white acrylic foam tape for structural double-sided bonding on metal, aluminium, stainless steel, acrylic and glass. The white foam and thicker profile suit visible, gap-bridging joints in automotive side guards and sun visors, truck canopies, outdoor cladding, signage and building facade panels.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF has a 180-degree peel strength of 3200 g/25mm and a dynamic shear strength of 6500 g/cm2 to stainless steel, measured per ASTM D1002 at room temperature after 24 hours. The 6500 g/cm2 shear figure is the highest in the Mightyloc white foam series, reflecting the load capacity of the thicker 1.2 mm foam.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF is 1.2 mm thick versus 0.64 mm for AFT 2064WF, so it bridges larger surface gaps and conforms better to uneven or curved substrates. It carries a higher shear strength of 6500 g/cm2, while the thinner 2064WF has a higher peel value of 4000 g/25mm. Choose 2120WF for gap-filling and shear-loaded joints.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF has a service temperature range of -10 to 90 degrees C and is best applied within an ambient temperature of 15 to 35 degrees C. Its viscoelastic acrylic foam absorbs the differing expansion of dissimilar substrates through temperature cycling, which suits outdoor cladding and facade panels in tropical and industrial environments.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF bonds on contact and builds toward optimum strength over time as the acrylic adhesive wets out. Apply firm pressure with a J-roller across the full tape length, and position parts correctly before pressing down, because the bond resists repositioning once contact pressure is applied. Leave the joint undisturbed while strength develops.
Clean and dry all surfaces before applying Mightyloc AFT 2120WF, removing dust, oil and grease. Use IPA (isopropyl alcohol) for general cleaning and heptane for oily surfaces, never oil-based solvents. Abrade the surfaces before bonding to improve the mechanical key, and use a suitable primer on hard-to-bond substrates to promote adhesion.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF is not recommended for low-surface-energy materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), Teflon (PTFE) and silicone. It bonds reliably to metals, aluminium, stainless steel, acrylic and glass. For these difficult plastics, surface priming or an alternative adhesive system may be required, so contact the MightyLoc team for advice.
Mightyloc AFT 2120WF has a 24-month shelf life from manufacture and ships as a 33 m log at 800 mm standard log width, slit to your widths. Store it at a constant 25 to 30 degrees C, away from humidity and direct sunlight, keep unused rolls clean, and never stack tape without a release liner between layers.
