AFT 3100CF is a 1.0 mm clear acrylic foam tape for bonding transparent and visible parts where the bond line should disappear, such as glass, clear acrylic (PMMA) and transparent plastics. It bonds to metal, aluminium, stainless steel, PMMA and glass with good chemical and elevated-temperature resistance, rated from -10 C to +90 C, and carries a 180-degree peel strength of 2000 g/25mm. The clarity suits sign crafts, name plates and glazing trim.

Front fascia panel
Apply the acrylic foam tape to the cab framework, peel the liner, then press the front fascia panel into place. The tape bonds the panel over its full area, so there are no rivet heads on the finished face.
Side body panel
Run continuous strips of tape along the body frame rails, then press the side panel on. The foam bond spreads load across the whole panel and seals the joint, replacing rivets and spot welds.
Rear quarter panel
Bond the rear side panels the same way. The acrylic foam absorbs vibration and the differential expansion between the metal panel and the steel frame, so the bond holds over the vehicle life.

Skirt cladding panel
Apply the foam tape to the escalator truss, peel the liner, then press the stainless skirt panel into place. The tape holds the cladding flush with no visible screws.
Bond without screws
Foam tape bonds decorative stainless and aluminium cladding panels to the structure over their full footprint, so the finished escalator has clean panel lines with no fixings.
Absorb movement
The acrylic foam layer flexes with foot-traffic vibration and thermal movement between the cladding and the metal frame, keeping the bond and the panel seam intact.

Frequently asked questions
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF is a 1.0 mm clear acrylic foam tape designed for bonding transparent and visible parts where the bond line should disappear. Its clarity suits plastics and glass bonding, sign crafts, name plates and toll-sensor-to-windscreen mounting. It bonds to metal, aluminium, stainless steel, PMMA (acrylic) and glass with good chemical and elevated-temperature resistance.
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF has a 180-degree peel strength of 2000 g/25mm and a dynamic shear strength of 4800 g/cm2 to stainless steel, measured per ASTM D1002 at room temperature after 24 hours. Its strength is lower than the grey and white opaque foam grades, which is the trade-off for full optical clarity on transparent bonds.
Choose Mightyloc AFT 3100CF when the bond must stay invisible, such as bonding glass, clear acrylic (PMMA) and transparent plastics, or mounting toll sensors to a windscreen. Unlike the grey AFT 1080GF/1120GF/1200GF and white 2064WF/2120WF series, the clear foam does not show through transparent parts, preserving the look of see-through assemblies.
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF is 1.0 mm thick with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.1 mm, and it comes in roll lengths of 8 m, 8.25 m and 33 m at 800 mm standard log width, slit to your required widths. The smaller 8 m and 8.25 m rolls suit lower-volume sign-craft and name-plate work where a full 33 m log is not needed.
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF has a service temperature range of -10 to 90 degrees C and is best applied within an ambient temperature of 15 to 35 degrees C. Its viscoelastic clear foam accommodates the differing expansion of dissimilar bonded substrates through temperature cycling, which helps it hold transparent outdoor signage through daily heat swings.
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF bonds on contact and builds toward optimum strength over time as the acrylic adhesive wets out. Position transparent parts precisely before pressing, since repositioning is difficult once contact is made, and roll the full length firmly to remove air and maximise clarity. Leave the joint undisturbed while strength develops.
Clean and dry all surfaces before applying Mightyloc AFT 3100CF, using IPA (isopropyl alcohol) for general cleaning and heptane for oily surfaces, never oil-based solvents. Abrading the surfaces before bonding is highly recommended, though take care on glass and clear acrylic to avoid visible scratches, and use a suitable primer on difficult substrates.
Mightyloc AFT 3100CF has a 24-month shelf life from the date of manufacture. Store it at a constant 25 to 30 degrees C, away from high humidity and direct sunlight, and keep unused rolls clean and free of dust and grease. Keep the tape in its wrapper and never stack rolls without a release liner between the layers.
